Anti-Bullying, Harassment, and Discrimination Policy

The Darling Theatre Company (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all staff, students, performers, and visitors. We have a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, harassment, or any form of discrimination.

By participating in our classes, rehearsals, productions, or events, you agree to uphold this policy.

1. Definitions

  • Bullying: Repeated or deliberate behaviour that intimidates, humiliates, or harms another person physically or emotionally.

  • Harassment: Unwelcome behaviour, comments, or conduct that offends, intimidates, or threatens someone.

  • Discrimination: Treating someone unfairly due to age, gender identity, ethnicity, culture, ability, or other personal characteristics.

2. Expected Behaviour

All participants must:

  • Treat everyone with respect, dignity, and kindness.

  • Avoid actions, language, or behaviour that could hurt, exclude, or intimidate others.

  • Act professionally and inclusively at all times.

3. Reporting Concerns

If bullying, harassment, or discrimination occurs, participants should:

  • Speak up if safe, or seek support from staff.

  • Report the issue promptly to a teacher, supervisor, or the Safeguarding Lead.

  • Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact staff if they have concerns regarding their child’s experience.

Reports are handled confidentially and sensitively.

4. Investigation and Resolution

  • All reports are investigated promptly and fairly.

  • Outcomes may include mediation, warnings, or removal from programs, depending on severity.

  • Safety and well-being of all participants are always prioritised.
