Anti-Bullying, Harassment, and Discrimination Policy

The Darling Theatre Company (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all staff, students, performers, and visitors. We have a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, harassment, or any form of discrimination.
By participating in our classes, rehearsals, productions, or events, you agree to uphold this policy.
1. Definitions
Bullying: Repeated or deliberate behaviour that intimidates, humiliates, or harms another person physically or emotionally.
Harassment: Unwelcome behaviour, comments, or conduct that offends, intimidates, or threatens someone.
Discrimination: Treating someone unfairly due to age, gender identity, ethnicity, culture, ability, or other personal characteristics.
2. Expected Behaviour
All participants must:
Treat everyone with respect, dignity, and kindness.
Avoid actions, language, or behaviour that could hurt, exclude, or intimidate others.
Act professionally and inclusively at all times.
3. Reporting Concerns
If bullying, harassment, or discrimination occurs, participants should:
Speak up if safe, or seek support from staff.
Report the issue promptly to a teacher, supervisor, or the Safeguarding Lead.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact staff if they have concerns regarding their child’s experience.
Reports are handled confidentially and sensitively.
4. Investigation and Resolution
All reports are investigated promptly and fairly.
Outcomes may include mediation, warnings, or removal from programs, depending on severity.
Safety and well-being of all participants are always prioritised.
