Youth Screen & Audition Technique Class
Thursday nights, 4.30–6pm
Grade 7–18yrs | Term‑Only Program
Bangalow AH&I Hall
Term 3 Starts 23 July | Limited Spaces
Program Fee: $399 | 8-Week block
A structured, skill‑building program designed to help young actors become confident, grounded, and fully prepared for film and TV auditions. Across eight weeks, students develop repeatable on‑camera technique, learn the habits casting directors expect, and practice weekly scenes so they grow steadily from class to class.
Actors learn foundational skills in voice, movement, text, improvisation, and character development while growing as young artists in a group training setting.
What’s included over the 8 weeks:
• On‑camera technique
Students learn how to adjust performance for the lens—framing, eyelines, internal life, emotional truth, and naturalism. Weekly scene work reinforces these tools so screen acting becomes instinctive.
• Audition mastery
We cover how to break down sides quickly, make strong playable choices, slate cleanly, handle redirects, manage nerves, and shape a focused audition under time pressure.
• Self‑tape skills
Teens learn to create polished, professional self‑tapes at home: lighting, sound, background, framing, pacing, and delivering a grounded close‑up performance.
• Industry awareness
We discuss how casting works, what directors and readers look for, common audition mistakes, and how to stand out in an authentic, relaxed way.
• Individual coaching each week
Every student receives targeted notes as they work, helping them build technique, clarity, and confidence over the full eight‑week progression.
Who this program is for:
Young performers with a curiosity for film and TV or actors who want to strengthen their audition tools and build solid on‑camera habits.
