An advanced term focused on refining essential on-camera technique through practical scene work.

Students will work on:

This intensive is ideal for teens curious about screen acting or ready to take their skills to the next level.

It is also perfect preparation for students wanting to join our Term 2 Youth Acting Classes starting 24th April 2026.

  • breaking down scenes to create truthful, layered performances

  • professional behaviour and understanding how a film set runs

  • eyelines, framing, continuity, and hitting marks with confidence

  • drama, comedy, and heightened material

  • adjusting performance quickly and effectively

  • delivering grounded, authentic performances under pressure

Places are strictly limited to ensure focused individual feedback.

Students aged 13+ may be considered for this class as an audition pathway into The Darling Theatre Company Ensemble, subject to tutor recommendation.

Term 2 | Youth Acting: Exploring Character Development

Commencing 24th April 2026
Fridays 4.30-5.30 pm

A deep dive into the craft of building layered, authentic characters for the screen.

This term focuses on:

• Script and character analysis
• Backstory creation and motivation
• Emotional range and expression
• Physicality and movement
• Improvisation and partner scene work

8-week programs running during school terms (Friday afternoons).

Holiday Intensives

2-day focused workshops held during school holidays.

All Screenteens students work in front of the camera from day one. Classes are practical, engaging, and structured to build both technical skill and creative confidence.

Students learn to:
