What happens when a quiet book club opens more than just a book?

The Darling Theatre Company presented the premiere of Joshua Sasse's bold, riotously funny comedy. What began as a seemingly innocent classical book club soon became devoted to an outrageously steamy fairy fantasy — quickly turning into something far more unexpected. As fantasy and reality blurred, a tight-knit group of women (and man) discovered that the real plot twists belonged to the people reading the story.

As the women (and man) gathered to escape into fiction, their relationships deepened in shocking and surprising ways — a reminder that connection often begins where pretence ends.

With razor-sharp dialogue, unapologetic humour, and just the right amount of mischief, this sparkling production delivered big laughs with genuine heart and a knowing wink at modern relationships, marriage, friendship, and the stories we tell to survive them.
