• A home for actors in the Byron Shire.

We train as we perform, developing craft through the plays we stage.

    Craft. Courage. Community.

Welcome to The Darling Theatre Company
where classical training meets the energy of live performance.

We are forming a local ensemble of passionate and dedicated actors who come together to hone their craft and provide them with a platform to further their career and provide accessible and enjoyable performances of a high and rigorous standard for the Byron Shire Community.

Rehearsal Sessions

Tuesdays 5:30–9:30 pm & Sunday 9–3 pm

This membership to the company includes an intensive 8-week rehearsal for a professional play, performed at the end of the course for the paying public, comprising at least 6 live evening and matinee shows. With over 136 hours worth of time with the director during the rehearsal period, you’ll refine your craft through voice, movement, text, and technique work guided by industry professionals with over 20yrs experience in the Theatre, TV & film industry. The six live performances provide valuable exposure to invited casting directors and directors and a lasting professional credit to your CV, along with membership in a company.

Monday – Friday | between 10–2 pm

Our 1-on-1 coaching sessions provide personalised, performance‑focused actor training tailored to each individual’s goals. Youth Screen & Audition

Thursdays | 4.30–6.00 pm | Grade 7 - 18 years

A structured, skill‑building program designed to help young actors become confident, grounded, and fully prepared for film and TV auditions. Across eight weeks, students develop repeatable on‑camera technique, learn the habits casting directors expect, and practice weekly scenes so they grow steadily from class to class.

Adult Screen Acting & Audition

Thursdays | 6:30–9:30 pm  | Adults 16 years +

Train like you’re on set with weekly three‑hour sessions focused on camera awareness, script work, and on‑screen performance craft. Actors film, review, and refine their work with tailored coaching rooted in clarity and technical skill. A supportive ensemble setting helps you build a strong, professional on‑screen foundation.
